Confirming your presentation
You must use the online speaker management form link provided in your acceptance letter to confirm your presentation.
Speaker registration
All speakers are required to register to attend the 2012 International Microbicides Conference by Tuesday 31 January through the delegate portal. Please Note: You do not need to create a new account, just use the access key shown in your acceptance letter.
Speaker biography
A brief biography of approximately 50 words is to be provided on the online speaker management form. Biographies may include presenter/s positions, career details and major work achievements to date. Biographies should be written in the third person. Your biography will be used when introducing you as a speaker at the Conference.
AV Requirements
You are required to indicate any specific audio visual requirements on the online speaker management form. If you do not indicate your requirements the Conference Secretariat is not responsible for equipment not supplied.
Your presentation should be presented in PowerPoint. Each meeting room is equipped with data projection facilities, lectern and microphone. An audio visual operator in the room will control the presentation, lights and audio and will be able to assist you with any questions. Note: Laser pointers may not be available and it is your own responsibility to provide one.
Please ensure your presentation is brought to the conference on either USB Stick or CD-Rom.
PowerPoint Presentation Tips

All text should be in PowerPoint, preferably in light text on dark background

There should be no more than 5 x 1 line bullet points per slide

Optimum title text is 45 - 55 points and no smaller than 36 points

Body text should be at least 26 points

Avoid UPPERCASE letters as they are hard to read

Please keep to the time limit of your presentation.

Poster Presenter Registration
All presenters are required to register for the 2012 International Microbicides Conference by the 31 January 2012 through the delegate portal. Please Note: You do not need to create a new account, just use the access key shown in your acceptance letter.
At the Conference
Speaker Preparation Room
This is located in G07 ground floor, parkside.
Please proceed to this room at least 4 hours prior to or the day before your presentation. Speakers prep is open during the following times:
Sunday
15 April 2012: 3.30pm to 6.30pm
Monday
16 April 2012: 7.30am to 6.00pm
Tuesday
17 April 2012: 7.30am to 6.00pm
Wednesday
18 April 2012: 7.30am to 4.00pm
A technician will be available in the speaker preparation room to assist you and to discuss any audio visual queries you may have. You will also have the opportunity to practice your presentation.
If you are not providing slides for your presentation, please advise the AV technician in the Speaker Preparation room 4 hours prior to your session.
Presentation Consent Form
You will be sent a presentation consent form approximately one month before the conference. You will be asked to complete the form and hand it in at the speaker preparation room when loading your presentation.
Media and Privacy
You will be asked on the online speaker management form whether you consent to the following activities:
Allow your PowerPoint on the Conference website. Speaker presentations will be published on the conference website post conference (unless specified otherwise). We require all speakers to provide permission for their PowerPoint presentations to be published (presenter consent form, see below). All presenters will be given the opportunity to submit a revised PowerPoint for publication on the website.
Allow media contact. A media consultant will be on site who may wish to contact you due to interest from media bodies. The media embargo for all data and information from abstracts or presentations is the date of the presentation at the conference unless indicated otherwise. Information in materials distributed to the media in advance is embargoed until when the data or information are due to be presented in the conference programme. We kindly request that all media co-operate with this policy.
Allow audio recording/webcasting.
Your presentation may be chosen to be audio recorded although this has not been confirmed.
Cancellations and Substitutions
Please avoid late cancellations or substitutions as marketing material including the conference handbook and program with the speaker's name and organisation will be pre-printed and cannot be removed at a later date. If you need to cancel or substitute speakers please inform Rosie Campo at info@microbicides2012.org.au
as early as possible.
If it is a substitution you will be required to confirm the change on the online speaker management form after acknowledgement from the conference secretariat.
